Recently named by Baltimore Magazine as one of the area's "top docs," Dr. M. Michael Massumi is a diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Academy of Pain Management. He graduated with honors as an MD from The Birmingham University Medical School in Birmingham, England and after a surgical residency at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. moved to Seattle, Washington. He then completed his residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Washington, Seattle in 1988.

Dr. Massumi has been in private practice for sixteen years in the Baltimore / Washington metro areas. He has spent ten of those years at the current location of Massumi Associates in Towson, Maryland. On a weekly basis, Massumi Associates serves 100-120 patients.

In addition to clinical specialty and management services at Massumi Associates, Dr. Massumi is a neurodiagnostic and physiatric consultant to many area hospitals and physicians. Massumi Associates and in particular Dr. Massumi strongly support and implement the many modern tools in information technology, bioengineering and neuroelectrophysiology to optimize and render more efficient the care of their patients.

Dr. Massumi has lectured and written extensively about the diagnosis and medical/surgical management of acute and chronic injuries of the nervous and muscoloskeletal systems.
