Patient Testimonials
I fell nearly 15 ( fifteen) feet from a scaffolding at work three years ago; I broke two of my vertebral bodies, compressed my spine and dislocated the left shoulder.
After initial surgical care at MIEMSS - the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center [ also known as the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems; http://miemss.umaryland.edu/ ], I needed to get back to work soon; However, the initial rehab care provided me was fragmented and two of the physicians in that rehab service moved to alternative positions away from Baltimore Metropolitan area.
Luckily, my cousin had already been treated by the Massumi Associates Rehabilitation Services for a chronic back problem and had done very well to where she had returned to her full-time job as a store manager at a local Giant Supermarket. She was keen to have me see Dr. Massumi and I took her advice. It was the best medical decision I’ve made for my rehab.
Dr. Massumi and his team of in-house and affiliate care-givers have allowed me to improve steadily. I can now walk unimpeded, am able to care for all my personal needs and have been in training to be a draftsman thanks to further guidance from DORS ( Department of Rehabilitation Services – State of Maryland and one of Massumi Associates’ many capable outside vocational resources).
Using modern medication regimens, nerve and tissue blocks [ injections] and PT and OT at capable outreach programs working under Massumi Associates supervision, I have steadily reduced my dependency on pain killers and have noticed an increase in my energy and measure of happiness thanks to a more balanced lifestyle and medical regimen suggested by Dr. Massumi and his team.
I recommend Massumi Associates as the premiere Rehabilitation Medicine Services Center in the Mid-Atlantic region and have them to thank for my current return to work and positive attitude.
