Mehrdad Michael Massumi, MD, FAAPMR, DAAPM is a board-certified Physiatrist (specialist in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation).
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and a Diplomate of the American Academy of Integrative Pain Management.
He graduated with honors as a physician from The University of Birmingham Medical School in Birmingham, United Kingdom (a top 10 UK and top 100 world university). After successfully concluding internship in England and two years of surgical residency training at the Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. he was admitted to the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle (a top 30 world university). He successfully concluded his residency in Rehabilitation Medicine in 1988.
Dr. Massumi has been in practice as a Physiatrist and Pain Management physician since 1988 in Maryland. He sees patients at his Towson and Rockville offices. He was the founder or co-founder / director of many clinics and services at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center, the Union Memorial Hospital and the Carroll Hospital Center. He has been a consultant in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation to many other area hospitals as well. He is a former adjunct clinical faculty of the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Johns Hopkins Medical School.
